Fremont Ave
Los Altos
This Los Altos residence demonstrates how thoughtful hardscape design unifies modern architecture with outdoor living. The homeowners asked for a pool house ADU with distinct dining and entertainment zones. KWLA collaborated closely with the project architect, aligning features, scale, and placement to connect the home, ADU, and exterior spaces. The front driveway accommodates basketball games and extensive guest parking, while site walls match the house plaster, and coordinated colors strengthen ties to the remodeled architecture.
The backyard expands the home’s living capacity with multiple outdoor cooking/dining areas and a large family pool that anchors the property. Stone terraces and functional paved surfaces define each destination, while native and drought-tolerant plantings deliver privacy, screening, and seasonal interest. Together, these elements prove how hardscape design can combine recreation, relaxation, and architectural consistency. The result is a landscape that feels stylish yet highly functional.
