Our Hillsborough residential landscaping project at Summit Drive showcases a terraced natural landscape that gracefully navigates a large slope. The steep topography provided both a challenge and an opportunity to create outdoor spaces that are as functional as they are visually striking. By working with the land’s natural contours, our design emphasizes flow and balance.

In the backyard, the landscaping highlights a blend of resilience and seasonal beauty. Low-maintenance succulents provide texture and color throughout the year, while Ginkgo trees introduce fall foliage to add a dynamic seasonal transformation. This combination enhances visual interest and reflects a plant palette tailored to the site’s conditions.

The hardscape features define the project’s modern character. Board-formed concrete walls bring a raw, textural element to contrast the warmth of corten steel walls. These materials ground the landscape with a sense of permanence and modernity. Groundcover plants weave between the joints of the concrete patio pads, softening strong architectural lines and creating a transition between natural elements.
